Outta Commission

Underneath that tarp is the last pour of concrete for the Beemer Pad this year. Now the exit ramp is done as far as it needs to be to get the cars out of the back door of the garage. Any more pours will be with 5-6 guys and a cement truck loaded with 7 cubic yards for really BIG jobs outside. This afternoon while stringing electric cable for the garage door opener I was leaning over a rafter and separated my ribs.... so now BOTH of us are laid up on light duty as JD's knee is still in a brace and he can't lift very much weight nor walk as fast as he usually does,. I can't raise my arms up nor lift anything heavy. It hurt just getting a jug of milk out of the fridge!

I might luck out and it heals fast if I am careful a few days.

I can't even brush my hair without screaming ass pain from my ribs. I am just glad the fucking cement is done and over with.

I can still get around I just can't lift anything heavy and there's no way for me to do anything heavy duty.

You boys are in Iowa, it's suppose to rain for 40 day & 40 nights. Well, okay maybe not 40 but the 10-14 forecast is for a chance of rain almost every day. Time to rest up. The apples & corn will still be waiting for ya.

That's really cramping our style since even July has fewer rain days off. Somehow we gotta earn a living! Also be a little constructive here and there.

That's a bummer, Bret. It's hard to run a farm and keep house when both you and JD are laid up. I hope for the best for both of you. Ribs can take quite a while to heal, so take it easy and avoid re-injuring yourself.

The worst is that I keep forgetting and over reaching for stuff causing excruciating pain. With all the crap that needs to be done that is a last straw for the season's workload of items on the "to do" list.

The problem of delegation is I am a stickler on having it done right and the way I want it not some sluffed off second rate "oh well" mediocrity. I don't settle for second best and when I do it I know it is the very best possible.

I was attempting to make some pancakes for supper... JD wanted pancakes with scrambled eggs and ham, however, the beer suggestion is duly noted.
