Yaaaa you been warned by my legal team NOT TO VIEW THIS BLOG IF YOU ARE HUNGRY!

Tonight at our house is meat lover's pasta sauce with hamburger, pork/beef meat balls, salami, and pepperoni in a sweet Sicilian Marinara simmered slowly most of the afternoon. It will be served over angel hair pasta with garlic bread and heart of romaine salads.

I've spent the day just shaking down the ashes and tossing more wood into the fireplace.

The wind and cold here is brutal tonight, however, our dinner turned out pretty decent.

Great dinner Bret. Sorry I missed it. I had to take a friend on an emergency trip to Calgary, so had dinner there at a truckstop. Just got back home before the heavy snowfall started coming down. Temp is 0F.

At least you got a meal and home before the major snow with the emergency trip.

Is all ya do in Iowa is eat eat eat and pig out more...Love the disclaimer to blog-don't and no no no...... Also -Brett is quite the cook, I'll say...
Moreover, cooking Italian this week, mom picked up Jeff Smith;s Cooks Italian; recipes potato gnocci with blue cheese sauce, chicken remoulades (italian version) with asparagus.
However , I hate to see you all suffering in the cold snap...while we're basking in 75 degree weather today...went jogging at noon in short shorts ,no shirt--the only consolation to living in overcrowded socal.

That looks really good and I am betting it tastes as good as it looks. It's one of those things that warm you up on a cold day. My comfort food for the day will probably be some nice Maine clam chowder. It's too early to decide.
We're supposed to stay cold for the rest of the week Everyone at work has to report a half hour early to get those diesel engines started. They do not get along really well with the cold. Not looking forward to this morning at all.
Stay warm out there in the middle of the country.

I have several Italian resource books but this one was asked for by JD... then leaned back and watched TV

Yesterday must have been Pasta Day. I was chatting with my Sister and she was making Chicken Riggies. Mike was coming to pickup up Leif after his holiday stay here. I made Sausage & Peppers over Rotini with Garlic Cheese Bread.

The forecast here is for 3-days of above freezing weather ... Yippee!

XOXO

Jack

Take the road less travelled.

Here in the frozen tundra of the fly over zone it's just been windy and cold, however, the snow has mostly been melted away with the chance of a freak January rain/sleet/ice & snow event for tomorrow. At least we broke the 5 weekend special of rotten snow storms EVERY f*****g weekend. I am putting together tacos for lunch here and staying inside no matter what.

We just got our roads cleared up enough so they were passable and now another dam warm up with rain on frozen ground that turns to a nice smooth sheet of ice. Great for skating but lousy for walking or most sensible modes of travel.

Our temps will be doing that here tonight and tomorrow with rain, sleet, and snow.
