It's Poured


Despite ominous clouds to the Northeast of us I pulled out the cement mixer and we started in mixing today. Concrete is just like a cake mix so much sand, this much gravel, toss in some cement, and add water. Four batches later the step forms were filled and we were washing up the mixer putting it away. I guess we'll just see how it looks tomorrow when I take off the forms. We currently have a 60% chance of rain tomorrow so the lower step/sidewalk might not get formed up or poured. We'll just have to see.

We mix the concrete up in front of the Beemer pad where the sand & gravel are piled. Then wheelbarrow it back to the forms.

We just ran out and covered it with a sheet of plywood. We have a major fricking storm about to hit us.

 SMOOTH pour, Bret. Hope the plywood keeps the rain off. I'm still waiting for the rain to start here. It is about 6 hr late, and I am now thinking it was a hoax perpetrated by our government forecasters.
