Redneck Technology

Redneck technology sometimes comes in very handy.

We have some very large carpets and rugs in the house. I'd tried washing them on the driveway, however, it took forever for them to dry. JD drove some galvanized nails through a pair of 2 X 4's attached a chain to one of them with lag bolts so as to suspend the carpet up in the air.

He slung a pully from a chain wrapped around a big oak limb by our east patio.

Then attached a cable to a winch lag bolted to the tree.. I can now powerwash all our rugs and carpets outside for spring cleaning. or if one of the mutts has an accident.

I also cleaned around the carpet in the parlor.

The only thing I missed in the dining room was the chandelier. I need help with that. I have to stand on the table and hand the pieces to someone then spray the rest down with Windex and clear water.

Yes you are probably right on the mutts. I was so used to my old Rottie Heidi who would die before she'd make a mess.

Good work Bret. You are way ahead of me with spring cleaning. The suspended carpet is a great idea.

being on a farm you learn lots of ways to do things with out new technology. I know when i was on the farm i learn lots of ways to do things that today they would think i was crazy. I always have said if it works that is all that matters.
So many for the old technologies are lost in today's high-tech world levers rollers wrenches and pullies have been replaced with hydraulics and those computers

they worked just fine building the pyramids and the Great Wall of China. They are reliable and perform under some of the most adverse conditions.

I don't know what you mean by redneck unless you mean cleaning your chandelier with moonshine? I would probably rephrase that as old fashioned farm tech or pre industrial revolution horse n buggy cowboy tech. Not to a evil politically incorrect biased group of lynch mob mentality morons.

We will see just how the Libtards react in Berkley Thursday... I'd call it probably 1920's technology at it's very best like aviation in it's formative years

Its the backwards libtards you speak of that utilize the term "redneck" to denote that all farmers and cowboys and generally segregate the masses against the possibility that not all country bumbkins are stupid ,racists ,or hateful bigots. What about those green organic technology farmers for example. Those who grow trees for the Earth ,raise fine heathy animals, store and grow non gmo seeds ect.Its the old technology that raised ideas of innovative techniques that may be lost years from now . May need to be re-utilized for the new organic based technologies of the future when gas and chemicals will no longer be used and old mechanical techniques may be the answer from eons ago in conjuction with new ideas put together and a new progressive forwards thinking liberal type of thinking with inventions and creativity in the mix.The green technology! The old pre industrial revolution innovation mixed in the new ideas like better solar panals for example.

Without those chemicals and gasoline there will be such mas starvation the likes here in North America have never been seen before. I want you to grasp where I am coming from 1 man with horse drawn wagon can hand harvest 1 acre of corn per day We have a little over 1,800 acres....that's Not even relatively feasible. BOTH of us with our horses MIGHT manage to handle 120acres but also plan on at best 120- 130 bushels of corn per acre instead of 225.

Short term the mass production pushes the land hard in the name of maximum yields beyond its ability to sustain and turns into a toxic swamp the crop fails eventually diminishing capacity the soil is depleted by the onslaughts of chemical forcings and mineral contents leachings, soil erosion and then mass starvation occurs anyways "Soylent Green" becomes the next thing a zombie race of brain eating cannibles occur. We must eventually find another way anyways and your granny knows better anyways and the scientists should speak to her old ways as part of the solution ,lol
