Culmination

From my first post asking about some early Canadian bank tokens ("Canada Query") Canada Query which I managed to bid on and win.

To there arrival and subsequent amazement at there size. For "pennies" that is a Canadian quarter beside the top penny and an American 1 cent next to the bottom penny.

To my query about a Lower Canada flag ("Hey Canada... Need help") Hey Canada Need help where 99curious69 suggested I look up Bank of Montreal which I did. There is an early postcard picture of he Bank of Montreal copied off then laminated to a piece of cardboard with the tokens inserted showing both sides.

Thanks to our friends in here we now have an interesting display of early Canadian coinage framed ready to put up in the house.

You'd need a wheelbarrow to haul $5 worth of these things around!

Good job Bret. Fantastic mounting for some huge pennies, with a colorful history.

Thanks to you Canadian friends for making it possible! Having to dive into a field of history neither of us have examined before.

with the value of a dollar today we would have to hire a Brinks truck to go shopping

Somewhere I read a $million worth of pennies would cover a football field about 100 feet deep in pennies...
