Physics Made Easy

YES! That E=MC squared guy, Albert Einstein, was RIGHT way back in 1916 when he predicted ripples in the fabric of space-time. It's taken a century, thousands of scientists, and billions of dollars to find conclusive evidence to verify Einstein's hypothesis.

Two black holes collided some 1.3 billion years ago, the joining of those two great masses sent forth a wobble that hurtled through space and reached Earth on September 14, 2015, when it was picked up by sophisticated instruments, researchers announced. The phenomenon was observed by two US-based underground detectors, designed to pick up tiny vibrations from passing gravitational waves, a project known as the Laser Interferometer Gravitational-wave Observatory, or LIGO. It took scientists months to verify their data and put it through a process of peer-review before announcing it on Thursday, marking the culmination of decades of efforts by teams around the world including some 1,000 scientists from 16 countries, according to the National Science Foundation, which funded the research.

Gravitational waves are a measure of strain in space, an effect of the motion of large masses that stretches the fabric of space-time -- a way of viewing space and time as a single, interweaved continuum. They travel at the speed of light and cannot be stopped or blocked by anything. As part of his theory of general relativity, Einstein said space-time could be compared to a net, bowing under the weight of an object. >>> Bretty, the faggot, says "Think of two guys on a bed rolling towards each other.... and how the mattress and bedding crumple as they near each other."

When objects with mass accelerate, such as when two black holes spiral towards each other, they send gravitational waves out around them at the speed of light, like ripples emanating from a pebble thrown in a pond. The strongest waves are caused by the most cataclysmic processes known to mankind -- black holes coalescing, massive stars exploding, or the very birth of the Universe some 13.8 billion years ago. While scientists have previously been able to calculate gravitational waves, they had never before seen one directly.

Thanks Brett. I was meaning to watch this story on the evening TV news, but fell asleep before it came on. Now I know the rest of the story. It sure does put a smile under Albert's mustache.

It's taken a century to catch up to his brilliance.

I am not well versed in Quantum Physics but sorta grasp the basic concepts. There are videos posted if you want it better explained.

Oh yes I saw that on tv ,very exciting ! Its going to futher my understanding of the flying saucer I saw in 1996. The wave like mirage like effects at the top of the craft dome,a stretching up cone shaped vortex then slowly dropping down to the familiar round dome shape. An effect like what happens when you see the heat on a hot road on a hot summer day ,those are heat waves. I heard that there was a theory of the gravity waves and thought if it was an antigravity device the mirage effects could be the gravity waves being controlled by it rather then by simple heat waves.Aha now its confirmed it was gravity waves I saw no longer a theory but fact that gravity waves exists.smile mr.albert

Yes I looked at Bob Lazars gravity wave propulsion system of the alien spaceship he examined at a military base ,omg. that's it! Norway spiral another one where witnesses described it as looking like an expanding black hole ,then compare and you see two black holes inside the spiral center that making the spiral gravity waves look identicle to the graphs I saw omg! So this net of gravity energy with two blasted out small black holes next to each other could intercept missiles I bet ! Then theres the gravity ripples across the earth modeled by computer simulation. The funny rippling clouds on Venus and Earths sky. This is great the internets buzzing! Again thanks to the guy with the yellow mustache, lol.

Control of gravity and time is necessary for long distance travel. Once this fabric is bent you can go anywhere in the blink of an eye.
