In a gun fight, sometimes the first shot wins!

Jesse Williams an actor on Grey’s Anatomy gave a speech at the BET awards. Part of his speech was condemning the shooting of Tamir Rice in a Cleveland park. He made references to white people do not get shot but instead are disarmed and arrested. To me that has racist tones to it right there.
Well, white people do get shot if they brandish a weapon and threaten a police officer by reaching for it or pointing it at the officer. I am not a biased or prejudiced person at all and do believe that black lives do matter but ALL lives matter. OMG! I have been with mostly white men but have been with black men sexually and also Hispanic men.
The first time I saw the video right after the shooting I saw Tamir walking around with the gun and pointing it at people. Someone sees this and calls 911. One caller tells the 911 dispatcher that it possibly could be a toy gun. Apparently that information does not get relayed to the responding officers so they do not know what they are dealing with. There is no audio of the video but the officers rapidly pull up and according to them they are already telling him to stop and put his hands up. Tamir is up and walking toward the car and he reaches down and puts his hand on the gun in his waistband. Tamir is seen going down on the ground as the officer on the passenger side is getting out of the car.
Those air soft guns are designed to look like real guns except they are required to have the orange cap on the end to designated they are not an actual firearm. When I viewed the tape I could not see an orange cap on the end and I have viewed it numerous times. My question on this is that the toy gun would have to have been pulled completely out to see that there was not an orange cap on the end of the barrel.
I have an air soft pistol that I use for shooting plastic pellets at stray cats and raccoons that come onto my property and it is designed to look like an actual 9mm or .45 and would if the orange cap was not on the end of the barrel. Some of the old style BB and pellet guns were made of metal making them even more realistic.
So if Tamir would have done as told and raised his hands would he still be alive today? It was said that Tamir was given this gun by another boy to play with at the park. So what about that other boy and why wasn’t it brought out about him removing the orange cap from the gun. To me he would be just as much of a player in Tamir’s death as anyone. Maybe if the orange cap would not have been removed the officer might not have fired. What glory would have been in it for the officer to shoot a with a toy gun?
There has been a big deal of Tamir’s age. This 12 or 13 year old boy was 5’7” tall and 195 pounds, the size of many adults. Many gangs recruit that age and they have initiations where they have to do something bad or murder someone, no matter who it is or what they are doing. Sometimes it’s just some innocent person walking on the sidewalk. Police have to be aware of and deal with this.
A few years back in northern California a young couple both teachers, it did not say if they were romantically involved or not but were a male and female were camping together close to a beach on the coast. They were each found in their sleeping bags a few feet apart with a .22 caliber slug in their forehead. They were lying on their backs and did not know they had been shot. It was believed that they had been shot while they were sleeping. The local authorities believed it could have been a gang initiation but had no idea which gang. This couple was not bothering anybody and just out having fun. I never heard if anyone was ever arrested in that case. They said that robbery was not a motive and whomever did this was just meaning to kill but maybe did that and left immediately after doing so in case someone heard the shots.
So Jesse Williams needs to realize that many times whoever gets off the first shot wins, especially from that short distance. I might have handled it the same way the officer did. I have learned in life that if someone pulls a gun on you and you have a gun in your hand is to shoot first because if you don’t get the first shot you might not have a chance of getting off a shot at all.
I have always complied with law enforcement officers and have dealt with a few cops with attitudes but even then just go along with them and chances are you will be better off. File a complaint later.
I try to be fair and equal with all races and do believe that officers have made mistakes in some situations. From the evidence that I saw I feel that Trayvon Martin was murdered by George Zimmerman. Zimmerman did everything he was told not to do and followed Trayvon in hopes of a confrontation.
The young unarmed black man Laquan McDonald was murdered by Jason Van Dyke who shot the 17 year old 16 times. This was murder. There were 8 officers and had tazers and pepper spray. None of the other officers discharged their guns.
There have been other cases where officers feel that their lives were in danger and the evidence proves it could have been.
The family of Tamir Rice got a 6 million dollar wrongful death suit and the officers involved were not indicted or proven guilty. Just where was Tamir’s family and why was he not taught better than that?
Would Tamir be alive today if he would have responded to the officers better and did as he was told?
