 Speaking for myself, I feel that we do not need new technology cars. We need a different fuel. Hydrogen! It works nicely with the internal combustion engines that are being built today.

 Also add in the environmental issues of mining the nickel up there in Canada, smelting it, then making the barriers....

 Natural gas is considerably better than gasoline. Both gasoline and natural gas (I have driven natural gas vehicles); are so explosive that it is illegal here, to refuel a car with either, while using a cell phone. Gasoline is very explosive; if it was not, it would not work in a gasoline engine. We are just accustomed to handling it safely. Hydrogen's only problem is that steel tanks are porous to it
