Good to know that the devise works & helped her out. Never know what might happen, even with younger people who live alone. Hope she's doing well.
On a lighter note, next time your hands are shaking, come visit me!

Sadly, my mom died 20 years ago, I never got to see her grow old. Enjoy your time with her.

Caring for one's parents in can be a large chore, but seems to be a right of passage for many of us. I took care of my father for the last 10 years of his life, as he gradually slipped away. Power of attourney and executorship was part of the parcel. It was a struggle, with lots of middle-of-the-night trips to the city, but I do not regret it. I had no help from the rest of the family.
